Stone pine spirit - often mistakenly referred to in the local dialect as stone pine schnapps - is a well-known and beloved specialty from Tyrol. For this stone pine spirit, fresh, still juicy red stone pine cones are hand-collected and cut into small pieces. These are then steeped in alcohol and gently macerated. Through the subsequent careful distillation, the essential oils and natural flavors of the stone pine nuts are preserved. This stone pine distillate is aged for at least one year before bottling, allowing its full flavor to develop perfectly. The end product is a pure, clear, and robust stone pine spirit with an unmistakable stone pine taste. For those who prefer it a bit sweet, we recommend the Tyrolean stone pine liqueur.
