This Amistar Il Secondo Rosso from Peter Sölva Winery comes from the Amistar range, a special composition of several grape varieties that reflects the family history of the estate. The name Amistar traces back to Susanna Amistar, a Spanish ancestor of the Sölva family. The range stands for carefully selected vineyard sites, uncompromising vineyard work and a distinctive style with Mediterranean influence.
The 2023 vintage is composed of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and a small proportion of Lagrein. The grapes come from vineyard sites in Caldaro, Termeno, Cortaccia and Laives at elevations between 224 and 300 meters above sea level, characterized by clay, limestone, sand and porphyry soils. In the glass, the wine displays a garnet to ruby-red color. On the nose, it reveals aromas of forest berries and black currants, influenced by the dominant grape variety of each vintage. On the palate, it is powerful, rounded and elegant, with beautiful fruit, delicate spice and a harmonious structure.
What makes this Amistar Il Secondo Rosso so special:
• Second grape selection from the Amistar range
• Cuvée of Merlot, Cabernet Franc & Lagrein
• Aromas of forest berries & black currants
• Fermented in stainless steel and aged in oak on the fine lees

Winery Peter Sölva
Winery Peter Sölva in Caldaro is one of the oldest wine estates in South Tyrol, with a family winemaking tradition dating back to 1731. Surrounded by the vineyards of Lake Caldaro, the Überetsch region and the South Tyrolean lowlands, the estate produces wines with a strong sense of origin and a distinctive character. Tradition and innovation go hand in hand, while old vines, careful soil management and a respectful approach to nature form the foundation of authentic South Tyrolean quality.
The two wine collections, DeSilva and Amistar, each tell a unique chapter of the family’s story. DeSilva represents old, deep-rooted vineyards and wines that reflect the character of their terroir, while Amistar stands for carefully crafted cuvées with a special family heritage and distinctive style. In the cellar, patience plays a key role. Given the time they need to develop, the wines emerge with personality, depth and a remarkable sense of expression.
