This Lagrein from Elena Walch Winery is an expressive South Tyrolean red wine with intense color and a multi-layered character. The grapes come from warmer vineyard sites on calcareous soils with clay and sand components, facing southeast and southwest and carefully harvested by hand.
In the glass, it appears dense and garnet red. On the nose, it reveals a complex bouquet with subtle spicy notes, cocoa as well as forest berries and black cherries in the background. On the palate, it shows a distinctive tannin structure, smooth richness, youthful freshness and playfully rustic elegance. Its juicy, long finish makes it a characterful Lagrein with excellent drinkability.
