The nose impresses with dark heart-cherry fruit, gently framed by Bourbon vanilla and subtle toasted aromas. On the palate, enticing notes of dark chocolate are supported by a balanced tannin structure. Ageing in new barrique barrels gives the wine depth, spice and excellent ageing potential. The vineyards surrounding Langenlois form the heart of their wines, giving them a clear sense of origin, character and a distinctive Kamptal signature.
Expressive wines with a strong regional identity are produced from renowned vineyards such as Steinhaus, Bockshörndl, Schenkenbichl, Steinmassl, Fahnberg, Spiegel and Dechant. Grüner Veltliner and Riesling in particular reveal their full diversity in the Kamptal, ranging from fruity and delicately spicy to elegant and mineral. Close-to-nature cultivation, careful work in the vineyard and experience in the cellar result in wines that remain approachable while clearly expressing their origin.
