This Blaufränkisch Ried Hochberg Reserve from Domaine 1196 represents a precise and expressive style shaped by origin, structure and aging potential. As a reserve wine, it combines power, elegance and finesse into a harmonious overall profile.
On the nose, it reveals delicate nuances of nougat and fine oak, accompanied by dark forest berries and black cherries with a mineral touch. On the palate, it is juicy and elegant, with red berry nuances, fine tannins and a refined line of acidity. A subtle saline note on the finish adds extra depth and length. Its youthful structure and complexity make it a versatile food companion with further aging potential.

Domaine 1196 Winery
The winery Domaine 1196 in Gamlitz combines centuries-old winemaking tradition with modern cellar technology. The name refers to the year 1196, the first documented mention of viticulture in the region, and reflects its deep roots in the Styrian terroir. This is where distinctive wines with a clear signature and strong character are created.
At the historic site of a former vineyard, a state-of-the-art cellar was built, uniting production, storage, and logistics under one roof. With a focus on precision and innovation, the wines are also given the freedom to develop naturally. The project was initiated by Siegfried Wolf and realized together with renowned figures such as Reinhard Muster and Albert Gesellmann. The result is wines defined by elegance and a clear Styrian identity.
