This Rachtl Sauvignon Blanc Riserva Vigna from Tiefenbrunner Winery comes from the single vineyard Rachtl in Unteraicha, in the municipality of Fiè allo Sciliar. The tiny 0.45-hectare site lies at elevations between 590 and 630 meters above sea level and is shaped by silty sand, high salinity, grey porphyry and sandy-calcareous rock flour.
In the glass, it displays a bright straw-yellow color with greenish reflections. Initially restrained, it opens with air into a complex aromatic profile of flint, graphite and slate, gradually joined by dried hay and exotic fruits. After 8 to 12 hours of skin contact, the must is fermented 25% in new tonneau barrels and 75% in large oak casks, where it remains for almost one year. The assemblage is then naturally clarified in stainless steel tanks for half a year before the wine matures for a further 12 months in the bottle. On the palate, it is refined, balanced and juicy-saline, with fresh acidity and a persistent finish.

Winery Tiefenbrunner
Winery Tiefenbrunner in Entiklar is one of the most traditional family wineries in South Tyrol. Sabine and Christof Tiefenbrunner run the historic Castel Turmhof estate together with the next generation, combining long-established winemaking craftsmanship with a clear view toward the future. In vineyards ranging from 210 to 1,000 meters above sea level, expressive wines are created that reflect origin, family history and South Tyrolean terroir.
The grapes come from estate-owned vineyards in Entiklar, Cortaccia and Magrè as well as from long-standing partner growers. Careful handwork, sustainable cultivation and gentle processing form the basis for wines with a clear personality. In the cellar, each wine range is guided with precision and care, from the fresh Merus line to the age-worthy Turmhof, Linticlarus and Vigna selections. The result is precise, elegant wines with depth and expression.
