With Essenz der Alpen, Johanna Jenewein has revived the ancient art of salt production in the Austrian Alps. Inspired by the untouched salt deposits and the centuries-old tradition from Hall in Tyrol, the brine is sourced from deep springs. Gentle heating in shallow pans creates delicate salt crystals, which are carefully skimmed by hand – resulting in a natural salt with a mild and distinctive flavor.
Whether pure or refined with herbs, Swiss stone pine cones, or spices – each salt is meticulously processed and packaged in sustainable clay pots that can be reused. The labeling is done by hand, and the packaging is completely plastic-free. The result is a product that perfectly combines natural quality and sustainability.
