Jagatee is a traditional Tyrolean speciality produced at the herbal distillery according to a time-honoured recipe. This popular hot drink combines black tea, herbal extracts, fruit schnapps, and Austrian Inländer Rum to create a bold, highly concentrated blend with a distinctive flavour.
Tyrolean Jagatee – also known as “Jägertee” or “Jagertee” – is traditionally prepared with hot water and enjoyed from a cup. The concentrate can be diluted according to the desired intensity.
Its history dates back to the early 19th century, when Jagatee was already appreciated as a warming drink in the Tyrolean mountains. Today, “Jagatee” is a protected geographical indication and may only be used for products made in Austria.
At the herbal distillery, the tea extract is freshly prepared and blended with carefully produced herbal extracts, fruit schnapps, and Austrian Inländer Rum to create this popular concentrate – without the addition of wine.
Important tip:
Do not bring the Jagatee to the boil, as excessive heat can diminish its valuable herbal extracts and natural ingredients. Simply heat gently and enjoy.
