This Roner R74 Rum Aged is a distinctive rum speciality from South Tyrol, bringing together Caribbean character and the distilling expertise of Roner in Tramin on the South Tyrolean Wine Road. Distilled from sugarcane molasses, this rum matures for five years in wooden casks, developing its unique depth and personality. Its name refers to the very first wooden cask: R stands for rum, while 74 marks the cask number.
What makes R74 especially remarkable is its ageing in Caldiff apple brandy casks. This gives the rum a refined fruity character and impressive aromatic depth. The meeting of South Tyrolean apple brandy casks and sugarcane molasses from overseas creates a beautifully balanced profile of fruit, spice and gentle intensity.
In the glass, R74 is clear with an amber hue. On the nose, it is smoky, intense and fruity, with notes of dates and fresh figs. Further aromas of plum, cinnamon, sultanas and almonds add richness and complexity. On the palate, it is round and harmonious, followed by an intense, expressive finish.
