Old Tyrolean Rowan Berry Schnapps
This old rowan berry schnapps from the Schwarzenberger distillery is a very special Tyrolean distillate. Carefully produced in Brixlegg at the entrance to the idyllic Zillertal and matured in wood, this old rowan is an extraordinary rarity.
The Schwarzenberger distillery has over 90 years of experience in distilling schnapps and is one of the few distilleries that still master and maintain the old knowledge of distilling rowanberries. Around 200 kg of berries are processed for only 1 litre of pure distillate. This is because the berries contain very little liquid. Its taste is all the more substantial. From cleaning to mashing to burning, the valuable raw material is processed by hand in-house. The result is an extraordinarily rich rowanberry schnapps that tastes slightly tart and subtly smoky.
