This Muskat Blanc from Domaine 1196 is part of an approachable, light cuvée range that offers a modern interpretation of Southern Styria’s classic grape varieties. Rather than focusing on single-varietal wines, Domaine 1196 deliberately creates carefully balanced blends that emphasize freshness, drinkability and uncomplicated enjoyment.
The cuvée is composed of 80% Gelber Muskateller and 20% Sauvignon Blanc. The grapes grow on diverse soils, are harvested entirely by hand and gently vinified in stainless steel tanks. In the glass, the wine displays a pale straw-yellow color with an inviting bouquet. On the palate, it combines expressive fruit with fresh, lively acidity and subtle herbal spice. A light, aromatic aperitif wine full of charm and vibrant character.

Domaine 1196 Winery
The winery Domaine 1196 in Gamlitz combines centuries-old winemaking tradition with modern cellar technology. The name refers to the year 1196, the first documented mention of viticulture in the region, and reflects its deep roots in the Styrian terroir. This is where distinctive wines with a clear signature and strong character are created.
At the historic site of a former vineyard, a state-of-the-art cellar was built, uniting production, storage, and logistics under one roof. With a focus on precision and innovation, the wines are also given the freedom to develop naturally. The project was initiated by Siegfried Wolf and realized together with renowned figures such as Reinhard Muster and Albert Gesellmann. The result is wines defined by elegance and a clear Styrian identity.
