Tyrolean fruit schnapps is one of the region's classics and enjoys great popularity. Its fruity and fresh bouquet gives an idea of the variety and quality of the fruits used for this wonderful distillate. Juicy apples, spicy-scented Williams pears, fruity apricots and sweet plums are the secret of the Obstler, as it is briefly and often called among connoisseurs. This Obstler is distilled according to old farmer tradition, the recipe of which has been handed down for generations.
What makes an Obstler good?
In technical terms, fruit schnapps is referred to as a cuvée, i.e. a blend or mixture of several types of fruit. As soon as you open the bottle, the inviting aroma is reminiscent of a full fruit basket.
The aim of blending different distillates is to improve quality. For example, it can be used to blend a very full-bodied, flavorful batch with a lighter, fruitier component. Therefore, the blended cuvée should taste better than each component on its own. Individual characteristics such as alcohol content, fruit expression and residual sweetness complement each other perfectly.
